Why is it so hard to talk about emotions?
If you search on google you will find page after page with lists of emotional words.
It’s great to have the right words. It makes so much easier to express your feelings but not the only thing needed. You have to be brave. Not everybody likes to hear abut your feelings especially if they are not “good” ones like happy, excited and inspired. What about being angry, ashamed, fearful, depressed or jealous? What about feeling vulnerable at the mercy of the world or at least the person you are talking with?
We always want to have the good feelings, happy etc, but if you don’t allow yourself to have all the other feelings you will not be happy. To live a happy life you have to allow the bad feelings and acknowledged them to be able to get to your happy place. Sound awkward, I know, but your can’t live in only one dimension to have a full life. By being aware of the “bad” feelings, helps you understand what is happening inside of you and with that knowledge you can take action and change your story.
Is it worth the work the agony and sometimes sorrow to live with all your emotions?
Yes it is. It gets easier with practice but I don’t know that it is ever going to be effortless.

Powerful words! We must experience all our feelings, which as you said is not easy but necessary to fully live our lives! Much gratitude to you.

It’s difficult to be vulnerable and unpleasant to face negative emotions, but as a part of life it is unavoidable. I like your statement, “It gets easier with practice but I don’t know that it is ever going to be effortless.”
